Paul’s Glass Co, “Everything Windows”, a local Turlock business, and SBDC client, reports big gains in 2011. Paul’s Glass Co. is considered a hertiage business in Turlock, and like many local companies, experienced a severe dip in business activity recently in part due to the collapse of the housing industry and the state and local economy as a whole.
After mediocre start to the year, Patrick Jensen the owner of Paul’s Glass reports that he began consulting with the Alliance SBDC’s Turlock satellie location in May he began to see improvements in employee processes and sales activity. He has seen substantial gains in his gross receipts, and has gone from having to make a downsizing decision in 2009 for survival to adding to his workforce through the Alliance WorkNet, another division of the SBDC’s Host organization. The Alliance SBDC is a member of the UC Merced Regional SBDC Network.
Mr. Jensen has worked extensively with Jamie Cimoli, another SBDC consultant working from the Turlock satellite, who helped Paul’s Glass experience a rebound year in 2011. Cimoli tuned up his marketing footprint, helped implement employee training programs, and offered general business assistance. Paul’s Glass, at 240 S, 1st Street in Turlock, CA has reported an increase over same store sales last year of 25% and the hiring of 2 new employees, and owes his rebound success in large part to Jamie Cimoli and the rest of the Alliance SBDC Turlock consultants.
