The way most businesses start off, according to Howard White, is with a passion for something. That generally has nothing to do with the general knowledge of how to run a business.
For example, for a person who wants to open a bakery, the love of baking doesn’t necessarily come with the skills to create a business plan, keep the books or design a business website.
That’s where White is able to step in and help lay out a roadmap for anybody, regardless of where they are in the journey of starting or growing their business.
White, 59, works with two organizations, Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE).
